Minced meat in mushroom sauce

Simple and tasty dish that is just perfect in combination with low carb/low calorie konjac noodles.

This low carb pasta is made from Asian root vegetable konjac and it's very low carb and low calorie. It's available in various forms like rice, penne, spaghetti, and it can be purchased online or in healthy food stores.


The sauce can be ready pretty quick but if you want to achieve the perfect taste and thickness, it's better to let it simmer for at least 1,5 hour on low temperature.



Ingredients:

  • 500 grams minced meat (beef, turkey, pork)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, diced

  • 250 grams button mushrooms, diced

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1/4 tsp dried rosemary

  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1/2 tsp hot chili powder

  • 100 ml water

  • 250 ml tomato sauce

Preparation:

  • In a saute pan, on medium temperature, fry the onions on 2 tbsp olive oil until translucent

  • Add the garlic and fry for 2 more minutes

  • Add the minced meat and cook for about 10 minutes, until the meat is browned on all sides

  • Now add 100 ml water, 250 ml tomato sauce and the mushrooms and stir it until combined

  • Once the sauce boils, add the spices and herbs, set the temperature on low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for at least 1,5 hour. The longer you cook everything together, the better will be the sauce thickness and the taste so I recommend simmering for at list 1,5 hour on low temperature
